Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Ricky Quan, a sole proprietor doing business as Flashtab ("we", "us") about Flashtab, the bill-splitting app and the websites at getflashtab.com and app.getflashtab.com (the "Service"). By using Flashtab you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What Flashtab does
Flashtab helps you keep track of shared expenses: who paid, who owes what, and who has settled up. Flashtab is a record-keeping tool. It does not hold, send or receive money. Links to Venmo, Interac e-Transfer or other payment services just open those services; payments you make there are between you and them, under their terms.
Balances in Flashtab are only as accurate as what you and others enter. Check amounts before you pay anyone. Flashtab isn't financial, tax or legal advice.
2. Accounts and guests
- You can use Flashtab with an account (email and password) or join a group or bill by link as a guest. Guests can do less until they create a free account.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information, and only add people (names, emails, phone numbers) you have a reason to share bills with.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for using online services where you live, to use Flashtab.
3. Groups, bills and sharing
Bills, groups, notes and receipt photos you add are visible to the people you share them with: group members, people on a bill, and anyone who joins with a link you or a group admin turned on. Group admins can change group settings, remove members and delete the group. Don't share links you don't want others to use; you can turn link sharing off at any time.
4. Plans: Free and Flashtab Premium
- Free includes ads, and receipt scans after a short rewarded video.
- Flashtab Premium removes ads and includes a set number of receipt scans (currently 100 a month on Monthly, and 1,200 a year on Annual and Lifetime), recurring bills, and other features listed in the app. Extra scans can be bought in packs; bought scans don't expire.
- We may change what each plan includes. If a change reduces what you've already paid for, we'll tell you in advance and it will apply from your next renewal.
5. Subscriptions, free trials and payments
- Premium is sold through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or, on the web, our payment processor. The store or processor handles your payment, and its terms also apply.
- Auto-renewal. Monthly and Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown when you subscribed, charged to your store account at the start of each period, until you cancel.
- Free trial. If you're eligible, your first subscription can start with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you're charged when the trial ends. Trials are for first-time subscribers only.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or from the link in your web receipt. Cancelling turns off renewal: you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for, then return to Free.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store or processor you paid through, under its policies. Where the law requires it, you may have additional rights.
- Lifetime is a one-time purchase for as long as we offer the Service. It doesn't renew.
- Promo codes can only be used as described when they're issued, have no cash value, can't be sold, and can be turned off if misused. A code that adds time to a store subscription moves its next payment back; it doesn't refund past payments.
6. Ads
Free and guest use is supported by ads, including ads from Google AdMob. See the Privacy Policy for what that involves and your choices.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add. You give us permission to store, process and show it as needed to run the Service for you and the people you share with (for example, reading receipt photos to fill in line items). You're responsible for having the right to upload what you add.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use Flashtab to break the law, harass people, add people without a good reason, upload content you don't have rights to, interfere with the Service, get around plan limits or ad rewards, or access other people's data without permission.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Flashtab and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Bills you shared with others may stay in their records.
10. Disclaimers
Flashtab is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, including that it will always be available, error-free, or that balances and receipt scans will be accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for money owed between users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Flashtab in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Flashtab after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
14. Apple App Store
If you got Flashtab from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Flashtab, and isn't responsible for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
